Ceremony view on a not so clear day. | |
Let's face it, it's rarely ever hot in San Francisco. But then again, it doesn't ever really snow either (unless it is imported). The fall might be the best time of year in San Francisco, but the spring can be great, as well. April in particular can be lovely. At least we didn't choose a summer month. That is by far the coldest time of year in San Francisco and the primary reason tourists buy to many ugly San Francisco sweatshirts.
Unless it rains, our ceremony will be held outside in front of The Legion of Honor (if it rains, we will move indoors). Specifically, the ceremony will take place on the balustrade. I know, what is that? I had to look it up, too. It is the grassy area in the picture to the right. On a clear day, we will actually have the Golden Gate Bridge as our backdrop. It is really beautiful, but, let's be honest, it could be a bit chilly.
On the plus side, this give us every incentive to ensure that the ceremony starts on-time and doesn't run long. But, this does mean that you should bring layers for the ceremony. No need for parkas and urshankas, though. Men will be OK in suits (fedoras would be nice), but women will likely want to bring wraps or coats, just in case. It could of course be lovely and we'll need to pass out sunscreen. We're keeping our fingers crossed!
